Goddijn: 'TomTom competes for local government contracts related to its map-making and location-based technologies, and also does business with both Indian auto companies and multinational carmakers who sell in India.' Is this where these +200M probes come from? does business with Indian auto comp.... was dat al bekend ?
4-6 december TomTom on stage with their partner THTC in Dubai.

Vici op twitter: If you buy one before the end of the year, @Nissan will also throw in a touch-screen infotainment system with @TomTom #navigation. al bekend?

Afgelopen juli eerste calls juni 2018 gekocht serie 12 euro.
5%, 10% of zelfs richting 20%?

www.npr.org/sections/alltechconsidere... As we look toward a world where computers drive cars, maps and map technology become more important. Google Maps, Microsoft and Tom Tom don't just provide maps for your phone but for automakers and various other industries that need them.
Volgend jaar, nieuwe ronde, nieuwe kansen.
www.forbes.com/sites/tiriasresearch/2... Intel Outlines 2020 Automotive Roadmap For Autonomous Vehicles Tirias Research, CONTRIBUTOR GROUP Jim McGregor, CONTRIBUTOR Dec 1, 2017 4:21 PM 3,994 A Chrysler Pacifica hybrid outfitted with Waymo’s suite of [+] The battle to win the brains of the upcoming autonomous vehicles has become so competitive that companies have turned to acquisitions to enhance their IP. Intel has also made it a battle of product roadmaps as Intel CEO Brian Krzanich discussed the previously announced fifth generation EyeQ SoC from the Mobileye Group at Automobility in Los Angeles. The EyeQ5 will be the Mobileye’s first product aimed at fully autonomous vehicles, which are classified as SAE automation levels 4 and 5. Production is anticipated for 2020 which means it may be in cars beginning in 2022. The EyeQ5 was first announced by Mobileye in 2016, prior to the acquisition by Intel, but some of the specifications for the product have since changed based on Intel’s expectations and product simulations. To our knowledge, there is still no working silicon. While complete details of the architecture are still under wraps, before the acquisition, Mobileye had indicated that the EyeQ5 will feature 8, dual-threaded 64-bit MIPS cores and 18 computer vision processors. The original design was rated for 12 Trillion Operations Per Second (TOPS) at 5 Watts of power. The revised specification revealed by Intel for the EyeQ5 is capable of 24 TOPS at a power consumption of 10W, more than twice the 5W estimate provided when the device was first announced. At 10W, the EyeQ5 is 4x the 2.5W of the current EyeQ3 and more than 3x the 3W of the EyeQ4 scheduled for general availability in 2018. Intel also indicated that the EyeQ5 is aimed at what will be the leading-edge manufacturing process at that time, projected to be 7nm. The new Intel performance numbers are based on product simulations and are also double the performance numbers of the original Mobileye specification indicating that Intel needed twice the performance to reach level 5 autonomous driving from previous estimates and may be using two EyeQ5 chips in the final SoC. Intel Intel EyeQ Roadmap for ADAS and Autonomous Vehicles Mr. Krzanich also claimed industry leadership in processing efficiency with 2.4 TOPS per watt as compared to the upcoming Xavier SoC from NVIDIA, which will be capable of 30 TOPS at 30W for 1 TOPS per Watt. While the EyeQ5 targets are respectable, it is far too early to claim any type of energy efficiency leadership for a product in 2020 because NVIDIA’s Xavier has already taped out and will be available in 2018, two full years ahead of the expected production shipments of the EyeQ5 production shipments. As a result, Xavier will be a predecessor to a product for the 2020 timeframe, making the comparison of the 16nm Xavier to a 7nm EyeQ5 problematic. In addition, both solutions will be part of a larger platform. Xavier is an integrated SoC that can be paired with other Xavier SoCs and discrete GPUs for the Drive PX platform, such as the Drive PX Pegasus which combines two Xavier SoCs with two Volta GPUs. In addition, NVIDIA is the industry leader in AI solutions, especially with the company’s new Volta architecture with integrated tensor cores, which is also leveraged in the Xavier SoC. By leveraging the Volta architecture, Xavier is the highest performing solution announced for automotive applications to date. It is also important to note that the NVIDIA architecture supports all training frameworks. It is not clear if platforms using the EyeQ5 will be available in multichip configurations or paired with other accelerators, or what AI frameworks will be supported. While the update on the EyeQ5 is a clear indication of Intel’s commitment to the automotive market and the company’s expectations for its first SoC for autonomous vehicles, the company still faces fierce competition from NVIDIA and others targeting the autonomous vehicle market including NXP with the BlueBox platform, Renesas with the Open Autonomous Vehicle Platform, Siemens/Mentor’s DRS360 platform, Samsung/Harman’s autonomous vehicle platform, and Baidu’s platform just to name a few. The battle for the autonomous vehicle is far from over and due to advances in AI, the technology is advancing at an astonishing rate. It is also important to note that it will still take at least two years from when a new SoC and platform is available to it being shipping in vehicles. So, the SoCs capable of supporting SAE automation levels 4 and 5 in 2018 will be the first solution for the first wave of autonomous vehicles in the 2020 timeframe.

- calls 9,50 a 0,70 EN
- puts 8,00 a 0,50
