    The vehicles use detailed HD maps to create routes that are claimed to be both the safest and fastest possible. Advanced localisation and prediction algorithms help the ability to map and update routes in real time for increased convenience.

    Level 4 autonomous capabilities include improved response in reaction to lane changes, merges and changes in speed.

    Volkswagen’s Plan To Fix Cariad Includes Collaboration With Mobileye
    Following a management shakeup at the Cariad division of Volkswagen Group, Mobileye is poised to play a more prominent role.

    Volkswagen pulled out of its partnership with Argo AI last October. At the time, it said its commercial vehicles unit would seek a new partnership. According to Reuters, that new partnership will be with Mobileye.

    The development of commercial vehicles that can drive themselves on highways or in geofenced urban areas is likely to be realized by the end of the decade, thanks to advancements in sensor technology, high definition mapping, more timely data, vehicle-to-vehicle connections, and off-site call centers that can be utilized to deal with uncommon risks.

    The ID Buzz is primarily a cargo van, which is why it is being assembled by Volkswagen’s commercial vehicles division for customers whose primary focus is on making a delivery van that needs a minimum of driver input.

    Porsche, on the other hand, puts a premium on building cars that excite the senses, not vehicles that are little more than horizontal elevators. But driving long distances on the highway can still be a mind numbing experience. That’s why Porsche will adapt the SuperVision system from Mobileye that allows drivers to take their hands off the wheel on certain road types. It also has the ability to follow navigation routes chosen by the driver, change lanes, and overtake slower vehicles without driver input.

    The spokesperson also reiterated Fisker's categorical denial of the Ocean's alleged software issues. "We categorically deny that the Fisker Ocean can be driven at only low speeds. We are launching with basic ADAS software, a decision we announced last year, and that software will be updated over-the-air during the year."

    Citing unnamed people familiar with the matter, the publication writes that the EV startup is facing delays on delivering its debut electric SUV to customers because of software integration problems.

    Two people speaking on condition of anonymity said the Fisker Ocean's software needs more testing and troubleshooting. They said the software is currently prone to glitches, estimating the issues could take months to solve. As a result, the sources said some vehicles are only using a more basic software that limits the vehicles' speed.

    Fisker strongly denied this claim in an emailed statement to Bloomberg. "We categorically deny that the Fisker Ocean can be driven at only low speeds," the company said, adding that the vehicle's "software will be updated over-the-air during the year" after launching with a basic advanced driver-assistance system.

    It would be easy for the company to dismiss these claims simply by filming the first Ocean customer car driving at full speed and demonstrate the most important functions of the infotainment system.

    Developing reliable EV software is a challenge not only for EV startups like Fisker but also for industry giants like Volkswagen Group. The German automaker yesterday announced the restructuring of its Cariad software division and appointed a new leader.

    During the panel, at Geospatial World Forum, Strijbosch gave three reasons why the mapping and location tech world needs something like the Overture Maps Foundation. He explained the driving forces that encouraged the project’s founding members – Meta, Amazon, Microsoft and TomTom – to come together and lay the groundwork for a new data landscape in geospatial industries.
    The panel also included Jan Erik Solem, who is Chair of the Overture Maps Foundation and Engineering director of Maps at Meta; Ingrid Vanden Berghe, the Administrator-General at the National Geospatial Institute of Belgium; and Nick Land, Business Development Manager at ESRI in the United Kingdom.

    Reason 3: A platform to use and share open data

    So, what does the Overture Maps Foundation mean for the future of location-tech? After the panel, Strijbosch said:
    “Over the next decade or so, I see that the majority of maps displayed in apps and on the web will include Overture basemap data, most of the searches that require location data will refer to an Overture data and that the majority of cars, for navigation and ADAS, will include an Overture basemap. It’ll be the most useful and powerful foundation for any technology built on location data. ”

    heeft er een verschuiving plaats gevonden in de afgelopen week.
    Een toename van 264.511 aandelen is gemeld door één of meerdere grootinvesteerders.

    Volvo may have gone too hard on software because now the EX90 is getting delayed / The all-electric SUV was expected to hit showrooms in early 2024, but now it won’t start production until the first half of the year. The reason? Software, of course.

    Vette winst en toch geen dividend.

    Ik snap het.

    Dividend uitkeren en veel schuld maken en dan een ebitda die terug loopt.

    Dat willen ze niet bij Alfen, want dan ben je niet meer de baas in "" eigen buik ", ja ja die banken met hun ratio s , Here kan er over meepraten :-)
