Helder verhaal Tampi, top!

Bitcoin Cash Price Poised to Plummet Once Network Stabilizes 5063 Total views Bitcoin Cash Price Poised to Plummet Once Network Stabilizes Fork Two days after the chain split that resulted in the launch of Bitcoin Cash, the fledgling coin is quite an unusual position. The Bitcoin Cash network is almost non-functional due to extremely slow block times, inherited as a result of Bitcoin’s mining difficulty at the time of the fork. The token itself is quite valuable—trading for over $400—but only for a small fraction of the people who own them. Exchanges No major exchanges have Bitcoin Cash deposits enabled, which means that the only people who can sell Bitcoin Cash are the ones who had funds on certain exchanges before the split. Those exchanges (including Bitfinex and Kraken) have credited their users with the appropriate amount of Bitcoin Cash and have enabled trading pairs. Not all exchanges will be launching Bitcoin Cash trading pairs. Of the exchanges that don’t trade Bitcoin Cash, some will be crediting users and allowing them to withdraw their Bitcoin Cash. Others may choose not to even acknowledge Bitcoin Cash, and may not credit their users with the tokens. Water, water, everywhere, nor any drop to drink Bitcoin Cash deposits are disabled at all major exchanges because the Bitcoin Cash network is not yet safe to use. Due to its low mining hash rate, the Bitcoin Cash network is extremely vulnerable to attacks. Likewise, because of the small number of blocks that have been found since the split, a dedicated attacker could easily trigger a Blockchain reorganization. Such an attack would wipe out all trading history on the new network. Furthermore, it is difficult to send transactions on the Bitcoin Cash network at all, due to the incredibly long block times. All of this has resulted in a situation where most would-be sellers of Bitcoin Cash are completely unable to trade. Bitcoin Cash crash? All of this begs the question: is a crash imminent? At present, demand is absorbing an extremely limited supply and pushing prices up. Once the Bitcoin Cash network stabilizes and exchanges begin opening up deposits, there will likely be a massive influx of sellers. Assuming that demand remains stable, such a drastic increase in supply will likely cause the price to drop significantly. The Bitcoin Cash code includes a feature to reduce the mining difficulty if the time between blocks is too long. That code should activate at some point today, resulting in a much lower difficulty and much faster discovery of blocks. Once the network stabilizes, and it is safe to do so, exchanges that trade Bitcoin Cash will likely open up deposits. One last wild card So far Bitcoin has been largely unaffected by the chain split. After briefly dropping from $2,900 to $2,600 shortly before the split, Bitcoin’s price has stabilized in the $2,700 range. Virtually all Bitcoin miners are still mining Bitcoin, with almost none having switched to Bitcoin Cash. However, this could conceivably change, although it’s unlikely. The only remaining wild card is the following scenario. What if the Bitcoin Cash network stabilizes, exchanges open up Bitcoin Cash deposits, and the price somehow remains stable (or drops then quickly rebounds)? In such a situation, Bitcoin miners might see that it is more profitable to mine Bitcoin Cash, and enough miners might switch over to cause a small increase in Bitcoin block times. Safety valve theory The most vehement political opponents of the Segregated Witness scaling solution are likely to fully embrace Bitcoin Cash and leave the Bitcoin community altogether. Consequently, the new currency will act as a sort of safety valve, allowing steam to escape before the pressure climbs high enough to rupture the vessel. Other big blockers who are willing to accept the SegWit2x compromise will likely remain, but grow less political. Assuming that the “2x” part of SegWit2x is actually implemented as planned, Bitcoin’s long civil war may finally be over.

BCH is geboren, 1 Augustus 15:37. Of vise versa.

Why is SegWit pushing Bitcoin price up? The debate between the mining community and Bitcoin developers regarding the activation of SegWit has delayed scaling in Bitcoin for years. The first attempt to scale the network which was presented at the Hong Kong roundtable consensus event failed and it took over a full year since then for the Bitcoin industry, mining community and developers to come to a consensus to activate SegWit. More importantly, the activation of SegWit marks the first major milestone in Bitcoin in terms of scaling, as Bitcoin has continuously operated within the 1 MB block size limit established by Bitcoin creator Satoshi Nakamoto upon its launch in 2009. SegWit will also establish the infrastructure necessary for two-layer solutions such as Lightning Network to operate. The implementation of Lightning Network and other solutions including TumbleBit will further scale the Bitcoin network by enabling micropayments and applications that were not possible before. Another driving factor of Bitcoin price is rising demand from institutional investors. This week, CBOE, the largest options exchange in the US announced that it will integrate Bitcoin futures contracts and options on its trading platform by partnering with regulated Bitcoin exchange Gemini.cointelegraph.com/news/bitcoin-price-...
Hedge Funds Tied to Cryptocurrencies Exploding, Over 70 in Pipeline 338 Total views Smart Investment “Hedge funds with crypto exposure "exploding," tweets economist and investor Tuur Demeester. According to his quoting a related article, over 70 such funds are now being in the pipeline. The linked article includes a comment by Arthur Bell manager Corey McLaughlin who says: “I’ve been in the hedge fund space since 1998, and I’ve never seen anything like it in volume of launches in a particular area. It’s just crazy.” The market will likely continue to call for increasing numbers as the funds continue to outperform other market spaces. Best and the brightest Hedge funds are always in the market for the best, brightest and fastest ways to make money, regardless of the field. The market for hedge funds is constantly shifting, as investment vehicles change direction and move with the financial times. Recent increases in the prices of cryptocurrencies have led to attention being focused on the hedge funds that had crypto holdings. Such funds were relative outliers until the market for Bitcoin and others began booming earlier this year. New funds everywhere With the massive rise in values, hedge fund managers are seeing the need for new funds that link to cryptocurrencies and the public is calling for such funds. A recent revealed the number of such new funds, totaling nearly 70.
Road to $10,000: How Bitcoin Price Broke $3,000 and What’s Ahead Fork Bitcoin price continued in its upward movement by conquering the $3,000 mark. This happened just days after the cryptocurrency was forked and Bitcoin Cash emerged. Bitcoin is the first and always leading cryptocurrency. According to Kumar Gaurav, Founder of Cashaa - Auxesis Group, it had the longest time to successfully establish and mature when compared to any other cryptocurrency. This success cannot only be seen in the continuous growth over the past years but also in the speed of recovery after so-called “crisis.” The fork has eventually turned out in favor of Bitcoin, with investors dumping Bitcoin Cash, buying more Bitcoin and altcoins, with almost all top 100 cryptocurrencies gaining massively. Other reasons outlined by Gaurav for his positive outlook towards Bitcoin include the fact that more institutional money is going into Bitcoin, with the price increase in itself attracting more investors. He tells Cointelegraph: “There is increasing legal recognition, increasing media attention, a growing usability and acceptance, while the original, political reasons leading to Bitcoin's popularity are strong as ever. Most recently the EU announcing the possibility for it to freeze bank accounts to prevent banks from failing, reminding of what caused the first ever Bitcoin rally, the Cyprus savings raid.” Bitcoin will be $10,000 in three years Gaurav continues by noting that when looking at what Bitcoin has already become during its early years, despite having only a tiny fraction of the population alone supporting it for just some of its many advantages, most important of which is the freedom it brings to people in any troubled system, then we can only imagine how big of an impact we are starting to see now with established institutions and mainstream media finally embracing it. He also notes that over the past years, Bitcoin price can be seen as a parabolic curve, which sooner or later will take it to over $10,000 in the next three years. Bitcoin is not controlled by anybody Another strong believer in Bitcoin, Simon Dixon, CEO BnkToTheFuture.com, emphasizes that Bitcoin is the only cryptocurrency in the world that is not controlled by anybody, is secured by the largest network of computer power in the world and has a sound monetary policy. Dixon explains to Cointelegraph that Bitcoin has faced many challenges the latest of which was scaling. He notes that because nobody controls Bitcoin, it took three years of debate to reach the next phase for scaling solutions given the huge increase in demand over the years. Now with more scaling, Bitcoin can fill the huge demand that it is receiving as more and more use cases emerge and large pockets of money enter the market. Dixon also notes that Bitcoin will definitely encounter more challenges in the course of its development as the community works to improve scalability further, solve more privacy problems and other features the community feel is important. There is an increasing demand for Bitcoin About the rally in Bitcoin price, Dixon says that we are pushing past $3,000 as it has been proven that Bitcoin truly is controlled by nobody. No matter how hard people try, the money supply is being sucked up by higher and higher demand as Bitcoin becomes more and more useful. He also says: “I remain bullish as alternatives to Bitcoin keep adding value to Bitcoin and proving there is only one store of value in the crypto market. At the end of the day, people speculate and invest in alternatives, but there is only Bitcoin that they run to as a store of value to lock in any profits or losses they make from alternatives.” Dixon concludes by noting that central banks and governments will soon realize that holding Bitcoin on their balance sheet could be a wise move as financial institutions are realizing today. They will also create their alternatives to compete, but they will all be controlled, centralized and follow a similar monetary policy as traditional fiat money, providing more value to Bitcoin. “This type of financial innovation will only happen once in many people's life time,” he says. Bitcoin is robust and diversified For Michael Vogel, CEO of Netcoins, ignoring market hysteria and looking just at the fundamentals of what Bitcoin is clarifies its value proposition. Vogel describes Bitcoin as a very robust and diversified cryptocurrency. He notes that the fact that Bitcoin has a variety of use cases which include remittances, online payments, store of value, Blockchain applications etc., makes it clear that Bitcoin is not a one-trick pony. Coupled with the free marketing and publicity that Bitcoin receives in the mainstream media (even if mainstream publicity is negative, it still contributes to Bitcoin awareness), and it is clear that Bitcoin is the gold-standard in cryptocurrency. $3,700 is in sight Vogel likens the development of Bitcoin to how the internet fared in its early years. Vogel notes that even the Internet itself has gone through its own scaling challenges beginning from the days of dial-up Internet. He concludes by predicting even a higher price rally for the cryptocurrency in the near future: “Now that the Bitcoin civil war is over, I think we'll see a rapid influx of investors that had sold off in July rushing back into the market. Goldman Sachs has predicted that Bitcoin is headed for $3,700, and it seems we're well on the way there.”
Bitcoin can get to $100,000 if it keeps following one of tech's golden rules Business Insider Frank Chaparro, Business Insider Bitcoin is trading at record highs on Monday, but the cryptocurrency may still be far from hitting its ceiling. It rallied 16.19% since July 31, despite last week's fork that split it in two. It's up 465% since last year. According to analysis by Dennis Porto, a bitcoin investor and Harvard academic, bitcoin's price could hit $100,000 per coin if it continues to follow one of tech's "golden rules" — Moore's law. The rule, which was devised in 1965 by Intel cofounder Gordon Moore, describes the exponential improvements of digital technology. "Moore's law specifically applied to the number of transistors on a circuit but can be applied to any digital technology," Porto wrote in an email to Business Insider. "Any technology that is growing exponentially (i.e., 'following Moore's law') has a doubling time." Typically, however, the rule applies to a technology's computing power or capabilities. This is the first time Porto has noticed a technology's price following Moore's law. Since bitcoin's inception, according to Porto, its price has doubled every eight months. "This poses a unique opportunity for investors: Whereas it was difficult to invest in circuits or internet speeds, it is easy to buy a bitcoin," Porto said. Porto expects that this doubling trend could continue until bitcoin reaches mass adoption. Of course, another cryptocurrency could usurp bitcoin in the meantime.By February 2021, Porto believes, it could be worth over $100,000.
7464 Total views 137 Total shares SegWit Locked-in, but Questions Remain About Bitcoin's Level of Decentralization Now that SegWit has locked-in, Bitcoin’s three-year civil war appears to be nearing an end. While we aren’t completely out of the woods yet--questions remain about the pending blocksize increase this fall, and about the long-term viability of Bitcoin Cash--the conflict does appear to be nearly resolved. The next step is SegWit activation, which will come in about two weeks after the Bitcoin mining difficulty retargets again. Once SegWit is activated, more transactions will be able to fit into each 1 MB block, and congestion on the network will drop. Further enhancements such as the lightning network will be able to move forward, perhaps revolutionizing the digital currency. Back to the beginning From what is hopefully the end, let’s look back to the beginning. It’s easy to get caught up in the politics and espouse your side’s point-of-view, but it’s much harder to look back objectively and seek the actual causes of the infamous “blocksize debate.” By early 2014, it was obvious that there would have to be changes to Bitcoin’s code in order to allow the network to scale. The Bitcoin network was only able to process about four transactions per second, and interest in Bitcoin was growing. While there was not yet a transaction backlog, it was clear that unless action was taken, there eventually would be. Big blockers vs. Core Roughly speaking, the community divided into two camps: those who supported larger blocks which could in turn hold more transactions, and those who favored a more technically nuanced solution. In the end, these sides came to be known as “the big blockers” and the “SegWit” or “Core” supporters. Satoshi’s vision When Satoshi originally created Bitcoin, he foresaw a network in which everybody would run a node. Each node holds the entire Blockchain (and serves it to peers), ensuring that the Blockchain is immutable and cannot be controlled by a single entity. At the time, the Blockchain was very small, and running a node was nearly free. Over time, as Bitcoin’s popularity grew, so too did the size of the Blockchain. As the Bitcoin Blockchain grew, running a full node required a computer with a large hard drive and plenty of internet bandwidth. As both storage space and bandwidth are expensive, a number of volunteer nodes began dropping off the network. I like big blocks... When met with scalability challenges in 2014, the big blockers’ solution was simple: increase the blocksize. If each block can hold more data, then the network can process more transactions per second. The downside is that the bigger the blocks, the bigger the Blockchain. A bigger Blockchain leads to fewer nodes (since it’s more expensive to store and serve that amount of data). Fewer nodes leads to less decentralization. The big blockers insisted that this was fine, because enough volunteers would still run nodes that Bitcoin could remain decentralized. Developers’ opposition Most of Bitcoin’s Core developers lined up behind a different solution: Segregated Witness. This solution would allow transaction data and signatures to be split. The signatures could be “compressed” and more transactions could fit into normal-sized (1 MB) blocks. Basically, Core was advocating for a sophisticated kind of data compression. Such compression would keep the blockchain smaller, allowing more nodes to host it. There were some problems with this, however. In the first case, SegWit is quite complicated and some implementation challenges were expected. Nobody was quite sure, for instance, whether it would require a soft fork or a hard fork. In the second case, most of the Core developers supporting SegWit were themselves employed by a private company called Blockstream. Many in the community saw this as a power-grab by a private company trying to exercise undue influence over a decentralized project. Decentralized or distributed? Despite the numerous side-issues, the crux of the scalability debate boiled down to the question: “How much decentralization is enough?” The problem is that nobody knows the answer to that question. Decentralization has become such a powerful mantra in the cryptocurrency community that it seems the concept gets a bit muddled. A decentralized network is one that is not controlled by any single entity or group of entities and is resistant from attack by the same. Philosophically speaking, tens- or even hundreds of thousands of nodes would be ideal, but that isn’t really practical. Such a network would be distributed, not decentralized. A distributed network is one that is massively decentralized, where virtually everybody runs a node. Given the costs of running a node, it’s unlikely that Bitcoin will ever become truly distributed. At the same time, a project with a few dozen nodes can’t rightfully be called decentralized and attack-resistant, either. Right now there are just over 9200 nodes serving the Bitcoin network. Is that enough to keep the project truly decentralized? Would 4000 nodes be good enough? Would 1000? Before moving forward with discussions about other scalability enhancements such as lightning network, the community needs to reach consensus on a basic but fundamental question: Just how much decentralization is enough?

Hallo Tampi Bitcoin group se Is vandag weer 25procent gestegen !!
