For the moment ArcelorMittal doesn’t buy any shares back.
We have a defined capital return policy and the buybacks do have execution limits (notably max 110% of 30 day moving average) but other than that no specifics. We have authority outstanding but also time to execute.
goed dat je dit even gevraagd hebt, maar kun je het even toelichten

ArcelorMittal to Supply XCarb Green Steel to Gonvarri Industries Strategic Research Institute Published on : 11 Jan, 2023, 6:10 am ArcelorMittal Europe Flat Products and Gonvarri Industries have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to cooperate more closely on reducing CO2 emissions and strengthening both companies’ sustainability performance in the automotive market. The agreement focuses on the two companies working on common sustainability projects, including the use of ArcelorMittal’s XCarb reduced and low-carbon products, as well as identifying ways to strengthen the circular economy both within and beyond the manufacturing and purchase of steel products. Gonvarri Industries is a leading company in flat steel processing with annual production of around 5 million tonnes of processed steel and is a major customer of ArcelorMittal Europe Flat Products. In 2020, Gonvarri Industries committed to reducing its Scope 1 CO2 emissions by 50% by 2030, as well as operating solely using renewable electricity, as part of a commitment to reducing Scope 2 emissions by 100% by 2030. The company has further committed to carbon neutrality by 2050. Gonvarri’s Carbon Neutral Plan 2030/2050 is incorporated into the company’s decision-making, business strategy, management and performance metrics. Working with suppliers such as ArcelorMittal is part of the company’s strategy to accelerate the reduction in CO2 emissions, specifically Scope 3 emissions (indirect CO2 emissions produced in the company’s supply chain). ArcelorMittal Europe has a target to reduce its CO2 emissions by 35% by 2030, and to reach carbon neutrality by 2050. In 2021, the company launched XCarb, an umbrella brand for all its low and zero-carbon initiatives. This includes XCarb green steel certificates, which can be purchased by customers to reduce their Scope 3 GHG emissions, and XCarb recycled and renewably produced, steel made using a very high proportion of steel scrap and 100% renewable electricity.
We have authority outstanding but also time to execute.

Beursblik: Barclays verhoogt koersdoel ArcelorMittal Naar 35,00 euro.
Brazil approves ArcelorMittal’s acquisition of CSP for $2.2 billion Thursday, 12 January 2023 23:44:02 (GMT+3) | Sao Paulo Cade, the Brazilian antitrust authority, informed in a release that it has approved, without restrictions, the acquisition of Companhia Siderurgica do Pecem (CSP) by ArcelorMittal, for $2.2 billion. According to Cade, elements relative to imports and competition in the slab market can mitigate the possibility of market power abuse in the future. CSP and Ternium are the main players in the Brazilian slab domestic market, with market share ranges respectively of 30 to 40 percent and 50 to 60 percent, while ArcelorMittal, CSN, Gerdau and Usiminas have less that 10 percent each of market share. CSP was originally a JV among Vale (50 percent), Dongkuk (30 percent) and Posco (20 percent).
KARACHI : The prices of steel rebars rose to an all-time level of Rs 235,000 per metric ton due to shortage of raw material. All leading steel rebars producers, on Tuesday, have announced to increase the price due to exchange rate volatility and shortage of raw material as banks are not opening LCs.

Lenin Mine Fatalities puts ArcelorMittal Temirtau under Scope Strategic Research Institute Published on : 13 Jan, 2023, 4:33 am Interfax reported that Kazakhstan government will conduct comprehensive inspection at ArcelorMittal Temirtau with the participation of independent consultants. The report quoted Kazakh Prime Minister Mr Alikhan Smailov, after a meeting with ArcelorMittal Vice-President Mr Vijay Goyal and ArcelorMittal Temirtau’s CEO Mr Nair Biju, as saying that “Pursuant to the memorandum signed by Kazakhstan's Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development and ArcelorMittal Temirtau, the Kazakh side attracted independent international consultants to conduct a financial, technical and environmental audit of the enterprise.” Kazakhstan government has sent ArcelorMittal Temirtau a schedule of the inspection. On the night of 3 November 2022 an outburst of gas led to the death of five workers and injured four in the Lenin Mine of ArcelorMittal Temirtau in the town of Shakhtinsk in Karaganda region during the drilling of gas-draining boreholes. The government's commission for investigation later arrived at a conclusion that ArcelorMittal Temirtau was solely responsible for the accident. Among the causes of the accident the investigation report mentioned unsatisfactory organization of the work process and a lack of proper supervision by the engineers and technical personnel both from the coal department of ArcelorMittal and the Lenin Mine. The investigation commission named 26 officials from ArcelorMittal Temirtau as suspects in the case, including senior managers of the company and technical specialists from the Lenin Mine.
