Kaarten maken is a never ending story.

2016:
- AEX onder de 350 punten.
- Olie onder de 28 Dollar.
- Air France KLM uit elkaar
- Arcelor Mittal failliet.
- TomTom onder de 6,60 euro (door Apple).
Lunch time.

Men is niet voor niets wereldmarktleider in real-time Traffic.

Nuance taps HERE maps to bolster connected car platform The partnership will combine HERE's mapping knowhow and point-of-interest data with Nuance's artificial intelligence and voice recognition technology. Natalie Gagliordi By Natalie Gagliordi for Between the Lines | February 10, 2016 -- 19:56 GMT (19:56 GMT) Mapping and location service provider HERE has teamed up with Nuance Communications to develop smarter in-vehicle location technology powered by voice. The partnership will combine HERE's mapping knowhow and point-of-interest (POI) data with Nuance's artificial intelligence and voice recognition technology. Eventually, Nuance plans to use the technology to bolster the navigation capabilities of its Dragon Drive connected car platform, with the aim of creating a system that allows the user to issue very basic instructions, yet receive a more effective response. Unveiled last month, the Dragon Drive Automotive Assistant is designed to give drivers a conversational and personalized virtual assistant in the dash of their car. It uses natural language processing for tasks such as phone dialing, music search and playback, and message dictation. "There are two layers in a voice recognition solution: the layer that recognizes human voice and the actual words issuing driver commands, and the other layer that validates the command against what the system expects, which is the grammar, language or terminology," said Arnd Weil, SVP for Nuance Automotive, in a blog post. "As such, we need a strong dataset of map and POI data to train and advance our voice recognition. Otherwise the quality and accuracy of the content delivered to the driver will be severely impacted. By leveraging HERE data, we are able to further ensure that the driver receives the most accurate, relevant content available." As for HERE, the company was sold by Nokia last year to a consortium of automakers including Audi, BMW, and Daimler. Coincidentally, Nuance recently inked a deal with BMW to place the Dragon Drive platform inside 2015 and 2016 BMW models. The race for best automotive assistant technology has become increasingly competitive. This year's Consumer Electronics Show was dominated by automakers touting various smart-car strategies. For instance, Toyota revealed plans to adopt Ford's open-source entertainment software project SmartDeviceLink in its cars.www.zdnet.com/article/nuance-taps-her...
HERE Maps now with public transport integration for more than 1,000 cities BY THADDEUS HERRMANN HERRMANN_T 02/09/2016, AT 12:00:00 PM Although the former Nokia service HERE Maps now the German car industry is one that public transport integration is expanded worldwide. The provider lets you know that in the meantime more than 1,000 cities is the lines of buses and trains available. If the required information is provided, not only the stations and stops can so naturally are researched, but also schedules. New additions include for example cities in Canada, the US, France Spain, Italy, Brazil, Venezuela and Chile. HERE also points out that the representation of the exact line profile has been significantly improved. The maps of more than 200 cities can already benefit from the more accurate indicator, for example, in Brazil, Russia and the United States. In Berlin, the tram network is now ready to faithfully on the cards. In order to use the improved material must be loaded on iOS or Android's updates in the app. de.engadget.com/2016/02/09/here-maps-...
Mobileye Schedules Its Fourth Quarter And Fiscal 2015 Financial Results Release For Wednesday, February 24, 2016 Hopelijk geen nieuwe deals met autofabrikanten.
Robot Car Reality Check By Chris Bryant Feb 10, 2016 9:04 AM ..... The Israeli supplier has certainly made inroads. Its camera-based algorithms make a car brake automatically if another vehicle or pedestrian crosses its path, and it partners with every big automaker bar Daimler and Toyota. ..... That said, while Mobileye has a head-start, its market share and margins will normalize eventually. Chipmakers such as Nvidia are pushing into the field. Auto suppliers Bosch, Continental, Denso and Autoliv are rushing to improve algorithms -- and they have deep pockets. Conti bought Finnish algorithm company Elektrobit last year for 600 million euros and Bosch spent almost 5 billion euros on R&D in 2014, or 10 percent of sales. Google's also developing self-driving software.Carmakers have little choice for now other than to use Mobileye technology because it's the most cost-effective, but they don't like being dependent on a single supplier and are renowned for squeezing supplier margins .....www.bloomberg.com/gadfly/articles/201...
