    New York Rechter orders onmiddellijke vrijlating van Ghislaine Maxwell Deposition Transcripten

    Een federale rechter in New York City heeft bevolen de onmiddellijke vrijlating van eerder verzegelde afzettingsafschriften van Ghislaine Maxwell, de ex-vriendin van de beruchte financier en pedofiel Jeffrey Epstein.

    "Us District Judge Loretta A. Preska's order staat de publieke release van transcripties van twee dagen van verklaringen in 2016 van de Britse socialite Ghislaine Maxwell en aanverwante documenten, samen met de verklaring transcript van een anonieme aanklager," The Associated Press gemeld op dinsdag.     Preska's uitspraak kwam een dag na een drie-rechter panel op de Verenigde Staten 2e Circuit Court of Appeals "goed besloten dat het publiek had een recht op toegang tot documenten uit gerechtelijke procedures en dat transcripties moeten worden ontzegeld, omdat argumenten van Maxwell's advocaten waren meritless," AP schreef.

    De verklaringen maakten deel uit van een rechtszaak tegen Maxwell door Virginia Roberts Giuffre, die Maxwell beschuldigde van het helpen van Epstein bij het seksueel misbruiken van haar toen ze minderjarig was. De zaak werd in 2017 afgehandeld.

    De transcripties zijn relevant voor meineed kosten Maxwell, 58, wordt geconfronteerd, en waaraan ze heeft gepleit niet schuldig.

    Maxwell's advocaten hadden geprobeerd om de Guiffre zaak records verzegeld te houden, omdat ze nog niet voor de rechter voor vermeende het vergemakkelijken van de handel en seksueel misbruik van jonge vrouwen.

    Epstein, een schimmige miljardair met heimelijke connecties met enkele van de meest invloedrijke mensen op de planeet, werd in 2018 gearresteerd en aangeklaagd op meerdere aanklachten wegens sekshandel. Hij werd in augustus 2019 dood aangetroffen in een cel in New York in afwachting van zijn proces.

    Epstein's dood werd officieel beschouwd als een zelfmoord, maar de omstandigheden leidden tot een golf van samenzweringstheorieën dat hij werd vermoord om machtige personen te beschermen met wie hij persoonlijke relaties had, waaronder filmmaker Woody Allen, prins Andrew, hertog van York, advocaten Alan Dershowitz en Kenneth Starr, de Amerikaanse procureur-generaal William Barr en de Amerikaanse president Donald Trump.

    Barr, Dershowitz en Starr dienden in 2007 in epsteins defensieteam toen hij werd beschuldigd van het vragen om seks met een minderjarige in Florida. Epstein pleitte schuldig, zat 13 maanden in de gevangenis en stond geregistreerd als zedendelinquent. De geliefde deal die Epstein ontving, werd geregeld door de toenmalige Amerikaanse minister alex Acosta, Trumps huidige minister van Arbeid.

    Op dinsdag, aanklagers in New York ook ingediend moties om 40 pagina's van documenten en 40 foto's van vrouwen die betrokken zijn bij de lopende zaak tegen Maxwell uit de handen van haar advocaten te houden.

    "De voortijdige onthulling van deze informatie zou de verweerder de gelegenheid geven om zich te bemoeien met het onderzoek van de regering voordat het is voltooid. Dergelijke informatie kan haar in staat stellen om contact op te nemen en getuigen te intimideren, bewijsmateriaal te vernietigen dat relevant is voor het onderzoek of andere doelwitten van het onderzoek te waarschuwen", schreven de aanklagers.

    Donald Trump heeft een echte haat-liefdeverhouding met Twitter. De site, natuurlijk, stelt hem in staat om te spreken met zijn 87 miljoen volgelingen op elk moment, dag of nacht.     Greenberger werkte ooit als twitter's global director of content partnership. Tapper vroeg hem: "Je zei dat Trump op beide platforms het zwijgen moest worden opgelegd totdat een winnaar bij de verkiezingen is bepaald. Dat is een vrij extreme suggestie. Waarom zeg je dat?"

    De voormalige exec antwoordde:

    "Dat is het wel, en extreme tijden vragen om extreme suggesties. Ik ben niet licht op deze mening gekomen. Ik denk dat de tech bedrijven, over het algemeen, hebben een verantwoordelijkheid om neutraal te zijn. Ik denk dat in het geval van Twitter in het bijzonder, het is een groot voorstander van de democratisering van informatie, alsmede een sterke voorstander van de vrijheid van meningsuiting. Echter, we zijn in een unieke, en, geloof ik, een beladen moment in de tijd met een president die wanhopig is en hij wordt geconfronteerd met een zeer moeilijke situatie. Ik denk dat het tijd is om de president tijdelijk te dempen, terwijl er nu gestemd wordt en totdat de winnaar is beslist."

    Greenberger verwees toen naar Trumps stem per mailclaims: "Dit komt niet uit de donkere hoeken van het dark web of sociale media, het komt van de president. Dus misschien is het tijd om de president te dempen terwijl we in deze huidige tijd."

    Wat heeft Hunter Biden met de president te maken (zolang hij zich niet met de politiek van zijn vader bemoeid)? Dat de focus nu op de zoon van Joe ligt om Joe in discrediet te brengen is een totaal zwaktebod. Hunter wordt toch geen president. Gelukkig zijn de beschuldigen van vrouwenmishandeling, verkrachting, landverraad, belastingontduiking, dood door schuld, heulen met de vijand etc. direct aan het adres van Donald (en zijn zoon die zo graag informatie deelt met de Russen en zijn dochter die zo graag zaken dat met China).

    Mr. Trump’s own business history is filled with overseas financial deals, and some have involved the Chinese state. He spent a decade unsuccessfully pursuing projects in China, operating an office there during his first run for president and forging a partnership with a major government-controlled company.

    And it turns out that China is one of only three foreign nations — the others are Britain and Ireland — where Mr. Trump maintains a bank account, according to an analysis of the president’s tax records, which were obtained by The New York Times. The foreign accounts do not show up on Mr. Trump’s public financial disclosures, where he must list personal assets, because they are held under corporate names. The identities of the financial institutions are not clear.

    The Chinese account is controlled by Trump International Hotels Management L.L.C., which the tax records show paid $188,561 in taxes in China while pursuing licensing deals there from 2013 to 2015.

    In 2008, Mr. Trump pursued an office tower project in Guangzhou that never got off the ground. But his efforts accelerated in 2012 with the opening of a Shanghai office, and tax records show that one of Mr. Trump’s China-related companies, THC China Development L.L.C., claimed $84,000 in deductions that year for travel costs, legal fees and office expenses.

    After effectively planting his flag there, Mr. Trump found a partner in the State Grid Corporation, one of the nation’s largest government-controlled enterprises. Agence France-Presse reported in 2016 that the partnership would have involved licensing and managing a development in Beijing. Mr. Trump was reportedly still pursuing the deal months into his first presidential campaign, but it was abandoned after State Grid became ensnared in a corruption investigation by Chinese authorities.

    In 2017, the company reported an unusually large spike in revenue — some $17.5 million, more than the previous five years’ combined. It was accompanied by a $15.1 million withdrawal by Mr. Trump from the company’s capital account.

    On the president’s public financial disclosures for that year, he reported the large revenue figure, and described it only as “management fees and other contract payments.” One significant event for the company that is known to have occurred in 2017 was the buyout of its management contract for the SoHo hotel in New York, which Bloomberg reported to have cost around $6 million.

    WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump’s sprawling political operation has raised well over $1 billion since he took the White House in 2017 — and set a lot of it on fire.

    Trump bought a $10 million Super Bowl ad when he didn’t yet have a challenger. He tapped his political organization to cover exorbitant legal fees related to his impeachment. Aides made flashy displays of their newfound wealth — including a fleet of luxury vehicles purchased by Brad Parscale, his former campaign manager.

    Meanwhile, a web of limited liability companies hid more than $356 million in spending from disclosure, records show.

    Now, just two weeks out from the election, some campaign aides privately acknowledge they are facing difficult spending decisions at a time when Democratic nominee Joe Biden has flooded the airwaves with advertising. That has put Trump in the position of needing to do more of his signature rallies as a substitute during the coronavirus pandemic while relying on an unproven theory that he can turn out supporters who are infrequent voters at historic levels.

    “They spent their money on unnecessary overhead, lifestyles-of-the-rich-and-famous activity by the campaign staff and vanity ads,” said Mike Murphy, a veteran Republican consultant who advised John McCain and Jeb Bush and is an outspoken Trump critic. “You could literally have 10 monkeys with flamethrowers go after the money, and they wouldn’t have burned through it as stupidly.”

    For Trump, it’s a familiar, if not welcome, position. In 2016, he was vastly outraised by Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton but still pulled off a come-from-behind win. This time around, though, he was betting on a massive cash advantage to negatively define Biden and to defend his own record.

    A review of expenditures by Trump’s campaign, as well as the Republican National Committee, lays bare some of the profligate spending.

    Since 2017, more than $39 million has been paid to firms controlled by Parscale, who was ousted as campaign manager over the summer. An additional $319.4 million was paid to American Made Media Consultants, a Delaware limited liability company, whose owners are not publicly disclosed.

    Campaigns typically reveal in mandatory disclosures who their primary vendors are. But by routing money to Parscale’s firms, as well as American Made Media Consultants, Trump satisfied the basic disclosure requirements without detailing the ultimate recipients.

    Other questionable expenditures by Trump and the RNC that are included in campaign finance disclosures:

    — Nearly $100,000 spent on copies of Donald Trump Jr.’s book “Triggered,” which helped propel it to the top of the New York Times bestsellers list.

    — Over $7.4 million spent at Trump-branded properties since 2017.

    — At least $35.9 million spent on Trump merchandise.

    — $39 million in legal and “compliance” fees. In addition to tapping the RNC and his campaign to pay legal costs during his impeachment proceedings, Trump has also relied on his political operation to cover legal costs for some aides.

    — At least $15.1 million spent on the Republican National Convention. The event was supposed to be in Charlotte, North Carolina, but Trump relocated it to Jacksonville, Florida, after a dispute with North Carolina’s Democratic governor over coronavirus safety measures. The Florida event was ultimately canceled, with a mostly online convention taking its place. Disclosures show the RNC still spent $1 million at the Ritz Carlton Amelia Island, near Jacksonville.

    — $912,000 spent on ads that ran on the personal Facebook pages of Parscale and Trump spokesperson Katrina Pierson.

    — A $250,000 ad run during Game 7 of the 2019 World Series, which came after Trump was booed by spectators when he attended Game 5.

    — At least $218,000 for Trump surrogates to travel aboard private jets provided by campaign donors.

    — $1.6 million on TV ads in the Washington, D.C., media market, an overwhelmingly Democratic area where Trump has little chance of winning but where he is a regular TV watcher.

    There are signs Trump’s grassroots fundraising operation has slowed, too. Once a driving force, the campaign is now spending about 77 cents for every dollar it raises, typically through online ads asking supporters to chip in a few dollars.

    Between July and September, it cost the campaign $181 million to raise $235 million through such small contributions. That’s a considerable break from earlier in the year, when it raked in hundreds of millions while spending far less.

    Some of Trump’s wealthy supporters are also exploring their options.

    Republican megadonor Sheldon Adelson and his wife, Miriam, recently donated $75 million to Preserve America, a new pro-Trump super political action committee that is not controlled by Trump World political operatives.

    One of the reasons the group was founded in August is because there is deep distrust among some GOP donors that the existing pro-Trump organizations would spend the money wisely, according to a Republican strategist with direct knowledge of the matter. The strategist spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive discussions with donors.

    Steele had ook vermeld, dat hij er op vertrouwde dat zeker 85 % waarheid was wat hij via bronnen had. En het is uitgekomen dat hij het behoorlijk goed had. Nu nog de plas tape, dan is het plaatje rond.
    Als je met persoonlijke zakelijke belangen er zo vies diep zit met Rusland/Turkije/China/enz. Hoe kan je dan als president fungeren. Al die landen hebben de Donald familie goed in de tang. Amerika is gewoon een hulpeloos stuurloos schip.
