    Updated 3 min geleden
    5 min geleden in BUITENLAND

Of course we should have captured Osama Bin Laden long before we did. I pointed him out in my book just BEFORE the attack on the World Trade Center. President Clinton famously missed his shot. We paid Pakistan Billions of Dollars & they never told us he was living there. Fools!..

FLORIDA: ROCKET LAUNCHER, PIPE BOMBS, FIREARMS SEIZED IN RAIDS ON WHITE SUPREMACIST GANGS

Officers seized more than 100 firearms, a rocket launcher and several pipe bombs as part of the operation centres in Pasco County, Florida, according to a statement.

Authorities also seized “several pounds” of meth and fentanyl, ABC affiliate WFTS-Tampa Bay reported.

The three year long Operation Blackjack investigation was conducted by the ATF, with assistance from Pasco County Sheriff’s Office and the State Attorney’s Office

The gang members arrested have been charged with various federal drugs and firearms offences, and face sentences ranging from two years to life in prison.

“In getting these 39 dangerous individuals off of the street and seizing guns and explosives that could have been used in violent acts, the community of Pasco County is a little safer,” ATF Assistant Special Agent in Charge Craig Kailimai said, according to WFTS.

Among those arrested was 31-year-old Richard Mormon, allegedly found in possession of two fully functional pipe bombs, according to the report.

The Aryan Brotherhood is described by the Southern Poverty Law Center as “the nation’s oldest major white supremacist prison gang and a national crime syndicate.” The Unforgiven are a large white supremacist prison gang based in the Florida prison system, according to the Anti Defamation League. Their main symbol consists of an interlocking Iron Cross and swastika, with SS lightning bolts in the center.

Worth noting after recent comments: Retired Adm. William McRaven was reportedly on Hillary Clinton’s short list for Vice President in 2016.

He’s been critical of President @realDonaldTrump— even dating back to the 2016 campaign.

    He’s hardly a non-political figure.

    ....

Rechter fluit Trump terug over illegalenbeleid
    Updated 1 uur geleden
    2 uur geleden in BUITENLAND

In the first few hours after the midterm election, I saw the result as a rebuke rather than a repudiation of President Trump. But two weeks later it appears to be more of a repudiation than it had appeared at first blush. True, some high-profile Democrats were defeated, notably Beto O’Rourke in Texas, Stacey Abrams in Georgia and Andrew Gillum in Florida, and Democrats lost one or two seats in the Senate. But they won Republican-held Senate seats in Arizona and Nevada to go along with a special-election victory in Alabama, and they gained at least 37 House seats – their biggest pickup since the 1974 post-Watergate election. At the state level, Democrats won seven governor’s offices and roughly 250 state legislative seats, taking control of seven chambers in six states.

    ....

Trump’s xenophobic closing argument, highlighted by hysteria over the migrant caravan in Mexico, shored up Republican candidates in rural areas but contributed to a GOP wipeout in suburban districts. Maricopa County, Ariz., centered on Phoenix, was the most populous county in the United States that Trump won in 2016. On Nov. 6, it supported Democrat Kyrsten Sinema for the Senate. Tarrant County, Tex., which includes Fort Worth, was the second-most-populous county to go for Trump in 2016. It supported Democrat O’Rourke for the Senate. Even more dramatic is the fact that Orange County, Calif., the birthplace of Richard M. Nixon and of the modern conservative movement, is for the first time since the 1930s represented entirely by Democrats in the House.

    ....

Here’s an ominous statistic for Republicans concerned about their party’s future: The share of Democratic support among under-30 voters increased from 55 percent in the 2016 presidential race to 67 percent in this year’s congressional election. Here’s another: The Democratic margin among Latinos grew from 26 percentage points in the 2014 midterm election to 40 percentage points in 2018.

Republicans have become the party of grumpy old white people who live in rural areas and lack college degrees. Trump managed to squeeze a narrow electoral-college margin out of those voters in 2016. It is possible that, with his demagogic skills, he can do so again in 2020. But the writing is on the wall for the GOP, because every year there are more minorities, more college graduates and more residents of suburban or urban areas. The entire country will no longer be majority white by the 2040s. With Trump in the pilot’s seat, the national Republican Party is in a demographic death spiral.

If you want to see the fate that will befall the GOP if it continues to blindly follow Trump, look at the California Republican Party. It took a tough anti-immigrant line in the 1990s under Gov. Pete Wilson. Today the GOP has all but ceased to exist in the nation’s most populous state. Not a single statewide elected officeholder is a Republican, Democrats won supermajorities in both houses of the state legislature, and Republicans now will control only eight of 53 House seats. As goes California, so goes the country? The self-centered president doesn’t care, because he will leave the White House in 2021 or 2025 at the latest, but his Republican enablers will be left to wander, like victims of a firestorm, through the smoking ruins he leaves behind. They can’t say they weren’t warned.

Maersk reveals ‘Ironic’ twist in US Trade War with China - CEO

Bloomberg reported that the man running the world’s largest container-shipping company says he has access to data that shows Mr Donald Trump has so far failed to wean the US off Chinese imports. Soren Skou, the chief executive of AP Moller-Maersk A/S, says Chinese exports to the US actually grew 5-10 percent last quarter. Meanwhile, US exports to China fell by 25-30 percent. “It’s an ironic development,” Mr Skou told reporters in Copenhagen on Wednesday. “But after Trump has turned up the volume, the US has only increased their imports from China even more.” There are two reasons behind the development, Mr Skou said.

Mr Skou said that firstly, the US economy is doing well so consumers there have more money to spend on imports. Secondly, a lot of the really big US companies are hoarding Chinese imports to buy as much as possible before tariffs kick in.

He said that “When we talk to our customers, we hear from many of them that they want to bring in a lot of goods before the end of the year.”

Maersk transports about a fifth of the world’s seaborne manufactured goods, so the company is in a unique position to gauge changes in global trade flows. Given Maersk’s reliance on free trade, Skou hasn’t shied away from criticizing Trump’s tariffs in the past.

He added that part of the problem is that Trump is fighting an “asymmetric” battle, because China has a lot more clout than the U.S. when it comes to telling corporations how to act.

He further added that “Mr Donald Trump can’t tell Nike, Walmart and The Home Depot that they can’t import from China. So they will continue to import and will work on solutions and they may be hit a bit on their margins.”
